Overview

The Erasmus Mundus EMIMEP Scholarship 2027-2028 funds a two-year Master's degree in Innovative Microwave Electronics and Photonics, financed by the European Union under the Erasmus Mundus programme. The course covers engineering, photonics, electronics and applied physics, and students move between partner universities: the University of Limoges in France, the University of Brescia in Italy, the University of the Basque Country in Spain, and the Abbe School of Photonics at Friedrich Schiller University of Jena in Germany. There is no application fee, and applications open in November 2026.

What you get

The scholarship pays a monthly stipend of 1,400 euros for 24 months, waives tuition fees and provides a travel and mobility allowance. It also covers visa-related expenses and health and travel insurance, and gives industry and research exposure.

Who can apply

Applicants need a Bachelor's degree in electronic and electrical engineering, telecommunication engineering, photonics or applied physics, with a strong background in signal processing, electromagnetism, telecommunications, embedded systems, analog and digital electronics, electromagnetic wave propagation and photonics principles. They must show prior professional or research experience, such as internships, academic projects, research work or summer jobs, with at least four weeks of cumulative experience and a positive evaluation. A list of 180 ECTS credits with full transcripts, the final Bachelor's grade (converted via ENIC-NARIC if applicable) and minimum English proficiency are also required.
