Duke University Karsh Scholarships In USA 2027 (Fully Funded)
Overview
The Duke University Karsh International Scholarship is a merit-based award for international students at Duke University in the United States. It was established in 2010 through an endowment from Martha L. and Bruce A. Karsh and recognises exceptional academic work and interdisciplinary inquiry by students committed to scholarship in service of society. Karsh scholars form a cohort of civically engaged students from more than 20 countries, including Brazil, India, Nigeria and South Korea.
The award is listed at Bachelor's level and is open to all subjects.
Who can apply
The scholarship is for international applicants who demonstrate financial need. They apply to Duke through the regular admission process and request institutional financial aid. No separate Karsh Scholarship application is required.
What you get
The scholarship covers tuition, housing and meals, and mandatory university fees. If a student's expenses go beyond tuition, room and board and fees, additional financial aid can bridge the gap. Scholars also receive funding for three summers of research, unpaid internships or other opportunities that support their academic and career development.
How to apply
Applicants submit their application to Duke University and indicate their interest in financial aid. They then complete the required financial aid forms online through Duke's financial aid process, which is used to determine eligibility for the Karsh Scholarship.
Key dates
The deadline is 1st November 2026. Based on the previous year's schedule, early decision applications are due in early November for a quicker admissions decision, while regular decision applications are due in early January 2027 for those who need more time to prepare.
