Overview

Cyprus International University (CIU), in Nicosia, Northern Cyprus, offers tuition scholarships to international students for 2027. The university provides English-taught programmes in a multicultural setting with modern laboratories and research centres. It lists more than 60 undergraduate majors plus many graduate programmes.

Fields include medicine and health sciences such as human medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, physiotherapy and dietetics; engineering and technology; business, law and social sciences; architecture and design; and agricultural and environmental sciences.

What you get

All incoming international undergraduate students automatically receive a 50 percent tuition fee discount on admission. Applicants with outstanding high school or previous degree results can receive merit scholarships covering 75 percent or 100 percent of tuition. Master's and PhD candidates with high academic standing, typically a CGPA of 3.50 out of 4.00 or equivalent, can receive customised tuition reductions. Athletes who have represented their country or who join CIU teams may qualify for sports scholarships, and long-term campus residents receive 15 to 30 percent off university housing fees.

Who can apply

The scholarships are open to international candidates of all nationalities. Undergraduate applicants need a recognised high school diploma, secondary school certificate, or A-Levels or IB equivalent. Master's applicants need an accredited Bachelor's degree, and PhD applicants need a Bachelor's and a relevant Master's degree, preferably with a CGPA of 3.50 or higher. No IELTS or TOEFL score is needed at application, and admitted students can take the university's own English Proficiency Test on arrival. Candidates must sign the CIU Student Code of Rules and Regulations.

How to apply

Applicants register an account on the university's online portal with an email address, choose a degree level and programme, and fill in personal details, educational records and contact information. They upload scanned copies of a passport or birth certificate, academic transcripts, secondary school diploma or previous degree certificates, an updated CV for graduate applicants, and a research proposal for PhD applicants, together with the signed rules and regulations agreement. After submission, applicants watch their email and the portal for admission notices, tuition scholarship results and acceptance letters.
