Overview

The BRICS South-South Knowledge Series 2 is an international online learning programme titled Skills for the Future, organised by the International Labour Organization’s Emerging and Special Partnerships Unit and the International Training Centre of the ILO. The initiative promotes knowledge exchange, institutional cooperation, and practical solutions addressing changing labour market demands driven by technological change, demographic shifts, and the green transition. The programme connects skills development priorities with the 2026 Indian BRICS Presidency and relevant G20 discussions.

Who can apply

The programme is aimed at professionals, policymakers, and skills development practitioners across the Global South. Potentially relevant participants include representatives from training institutions, employers and workers organisations, development practitioners, and professionals involved in employment policy, workforce planning, entrepreneurship, labour market research, youth employment, women economic participation, and informal economy development. Up to 50 full scholarships are available for applicants from the Global South. Interested applicants should confirm scholarship eligibility conditions and coverage with the organisers before registering or making payment.

What you get

Participants engage in three interactive online webinars addressing skills intelligence, technical and vocational education and training, entrepreneurship, skills recognition, and inclusive employability. Attendees can discover skills development policies and institutional innovations, explore approaches for technological change and emerging occupations, understand strategies for vocational education and lifelong learning, examine skills recognition, identify transferable good practices for South-South and Triangular Cooperation, and build professional connections. Knowledge resources are expected to be made available through the South-South Meeting Point.

Key dates

The programme runs from 9 to 27 November 2026. The application deadline is 16 November 2026.
