WoMin Grants and Contracts Officer: Remote Pan-African NGO Career Opportunity – Apply By 20 September 2026
Overview
WoMin, an African ecofeminist alliance founded in 2013, is hiring a Grants and Contracts Officer for a fully remote role open to candidates based anywhere in Africa. WoMin works alongside grassroots women's organisations, peasant movements and communities affected by mining and extractive industries, through research, movement-building, advocacy and solidarity, across Southern, East, West and Central Africa. The officer reports to the Operations and Grants Manager and works closely with the Programme Manager and the Movement Support Unit Lead, ensuring donor accountability, grant compliance, partnership management and information systems.
What the role involves
The officer maintains donor registers, manages reporting calendars and deadlines, coordinates multi-author donor reports, reviews and consolidates programme reports, maintains grant and contract databases, supports proposal development and due diligence, researches funding opportunities, and tracks donor communications and contractual deliverables. They also develop and maintain Memoranda of Understanding, partner contracts, reporting systems and compliance mechanisms, keep databases of partners, allies, consultants and service providers, and support information management, strategic planning, staff capacity building and internal reporting.
Who can apply
WoMin seeks a highly organised, proactive, detail-oriented professional with at least five years of experience in project or programme administration, coordination or grants management, including work in national or regional NGOs or non-profits. A diploma or bachelor's degree in social sciences, information management or a related field is needed, along with excellent coordination, communication and organisation, the ability to handle multiple priorities under strict deadlines and advanced Microsoft Office, internet and remote collaboration skills. Experience with donor compliance systems, partnership contracting and proposal development is an advantage.
Requirements
Fluency in English is essential. An additional widely spoken African language such as Swahili, French, Portuguese, Arabic or Fulani is highly valued.
