WIPO Internship 2027 in Geneva: Paid Economics, Data Science and Innovation Research Internship at WIPO
Overview
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is offering a six-month Category II Internship in its Composite Indicator Research Section, part of the Department for Economics and Data Analytics (DEDA) within the IP and Innovation Ecosystems Sector. The internship is based at WIPO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and is expected to begin on January 4, 2027. The intern works under the supervision of the Head of the Composite Indicator Research Section.

What the role involves
The intern contributes analytical inputs to two publications, the Global Innovation Index 2027 and the World Intangible Investment Highlights 2027. Further duties include supporting data visualization, preparing content for WIPO's social media platforms and website under editorial guidance, and helping organise events linked to the two publications by preparing presentations, talking points and background materials. Other logistical and administrative tasks, such as drafting invitations and coordinating event logistics, may also be assigned.
Requirements
The essential educational requirement is an advanced university degree, at master's level, in economics, data science or a related field. The work calls for interests in statistical analysis, econometrics, data visualization, innovation economics and policy research.
