Overview
The National Institute for Reproductive Health (NIRH) is hiring a Digital Communications Manager to strengthen its online presence and support advocacy for reproductive freedom. NIRH and the NIRH Action Fund are advocacy organizations working for equitable access to reproductive healthcare and political support for reproductive freedom, through state and local campaigns, policy advocacy, public opinion research and communications.
The job is full-time, 35 hours per week, remote within the United States, with a salary of $75,000 to $80,000 per year. The manager reports to the Associate Director of Digital Communications and works with other teams.
What the role involves
Social media is a major part of the job: managing accounts on BlueSky, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, planning content, keeping a social media calendar and reporting on performance. The manager also helps with email communications, including drafting and formatting content, supporting distribution, maintaining lists, segmentation and data hygiene, and tracking open and click-through rates. Website duties include publishing press releases, job postings, reports and other resources and keeping partner pages current. The role also creates branded graphics and videos for social media, websites, email, reports and events, with Canva proficiency highlighted.
Requirements
NIRH wants about 3 to 5 years of professional digital communications experience, covering social media strategy, content creation, community engagement, email, website management, graphic design, analytics and managing several projects and deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication is essential. Useful tools include Canva, Engaging Networks, WordPress, Microsoft Teams and Outlook, Google Workspace, and Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro, with willingness to learn them acceptable. The person should work independently in a remote setting and adapt quickly when priorities change. The position is remote within the United States only, not worldwide.
