Overview

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is hiring a Senior Travel Assistant at its headquarters in Vienna, Austria. What you get

The assistant processes travel authorizations for staff, experts, consultants, participants and fellows, calculates estimated fares, prepares travel documents and payment instructions under UNIDO rules, and recommends economical itineraries with suitable connections for official missions. They act as focal point for travel arrangements for the Director General and Managing Directors, support major events including the General Conference, and help maintain relationships with airline representatives. They may also take part in negotiating corporate agreements with major airlines covering matters such as preferential fares and flexible booking conditions. At this level the work is done with a significant degree of independence.

Requirements

Applicants need a high school diploma or equivalent plus seven years of relevant travel management experience, or five years with a first-level university degree or higher. Experience with Global Distribution Systems and online booking tools is required, including Amadeus Cytric in a travel agency or airline office, along with SAP travel systems or similar ERP software. Familiarity with TopDesk is desirable. English is required and German is an asset.
