Overview

UNICEF is recruiting a Digital Impact Specialist at the P-3 level on a fixed-term appointment (job number 595518) in the Information Communication Technology category. The specialist coordinates and supports demand for technology-for-development programme assistance, working with programme teams to identify, assess and integrate ICT and digital innovation into UNICEF programming, strengthening internal capacity, engaging partners and applying reusable technical solutions that can be scaled and sustained. The role works with programme and operations teams, external partners and UNICEF's regional and central Digital Impact teams, and supervises staff and consultants.

What you will do

Functions include implementing digital and data solutions, strategic oversight and policy compliance, resource mobilization, portfolio coordination and project management, knowledge management, digital capacity building, digital innovation, business analysis, ICT management, and leadership and people management.

Requirements

Applicants need an advanced university degree in a field such as digital transformation, business analysis, ICT management, computer science, innovation, digital development or international development. At least five years of professional experience in ICT for Development in a large international organization or corporation is required, including designing and implementing large-scale projects with technical components, supervising vendors and software developers, budget and contract management, procurement, and ICT, mobile and web technologies. Experience with UNICEF or other international organizations in health, nutrition, child protection or education is relevant.

Desirable skills include open-source, mobile and emerging technologies, T4D or ICT4D programme and service design, knowledge of RapidPro, Primero, DHIS2 and ODK, and programming with tools such as GitHub or Jenkins. Fluent English is required; another UN language or a local language is an asset.
