UNICEF Design and Creative Communications Consultant 2026: 12-Month Opportunity in New York
Overview
UNICEF is seeking a Design and Creative Communications Consultant to support Generation Unlimited (GenU) at its headquarters in New York (job number 595603). The consultancy lasts 12 months and is home-based with travel. Generation Unlimited is UNICEF's global public-private-youth partnership on youth skilling and livelihoods, working with governments, businesses, young people and other partners to link young people with opportunities in skills, employment and entrepreneurship.
What you will do
The consultant creates high-quality materials for global meetings, reports, pitch decks, proposals, social media campaigns and special events, while meeting logo and visibility requirements. Work includes visual assets for social media, websites and virtual and in-person events, support for publications including flagship GenU reports by turning complex information and data into clear visuals, and content for platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube adapted to each format. Strong project management and remote coordination are needed to deliver on time.
Requirements
Applicants need a Bachelor's degree in design, communications, marketing, innovation, social science or a related field. They must have at least five years of experience leading multimedia graphic design and visual identity projects for publications, social media and events, and at least two years working with international organizations such as UNICEF or the World Bank, or similar institutions running multi-partner, multi-country programmes. Experience with UNICEF or youth-focused programming is an advantage.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign is essential, and other creative tools are desirable. Fluent written and spoken English is required; another official UN language or a local language is an advantage.
