UNICEF AI Literacy and Responsible Adoption Consultant 2026: Dhaka Consultancy Opportunity
Overview
UNICEF's Bangladesh Country Office in Dhaka is seeking an AI Literacy and Responsible Adoption Consultant to strengthen staff capability to understand, use and adopt artificial intelligence responsibly. Working under the Chief, People and Culture, the consultant designs and delivers a structured programme for country office staff, with particular attention to Microsoft Copilot and other UNICEF-approved AI tools. Staff are expected to learn the opportunities and limits of generative AI, pick suitable use cases, evaluate AI outputs, protect sensitive data, recognize bias and hallucination risks, apply human oversight and understand AI in relation to child rights.
The work covers five areas: consultation and assessment of current AI literacy and adoption barriers, including an inception report, workplan and measurement framework; a tiered, role-relevant curriculum; hands-on workshops on AI fundamentals, prompting, workflow design and risk mitigation; AI clinics and a light peer or AI Champions mechanism; and an endline assessment with recommendations and a roadmap for AI capability development in 2027.
Requirements
Applicants need an advanced degree in a field such as artificial intelligence, computer science, data science, information systems, digital transformation, learning technology, organizational development, behavioural science, business or public policy. At least five years of experience in AI, digital transformation, organizational learning or change management is required, including recent hands-on work supporting organizational adoption of generative AI and designing role-based AI learning for non-technical staff and managers. Strong knowledge of enterprise generative AI tools, preferably Microsoft 365 Copilot, is required, along with familiarity with responsible AI, privacy, information security and risk management. Professional certifications and UN, development or child-rights experience are assets. Good English is required.

This is a consultancy with no fixed salary. Applicants submit a technical offer with methodology, timeline, milestones and references, and an all-inclusive lump-sum financial offer covering fees, administrative, living and travel costs, with a milestone-linked payment schedule. Evaluation weights qualifications at 20 percent, the technical offer at 50 percent and the financial offer at 30 percent.
