UNFPA Foresight Paid Intern 2026: Strategic Foresight and Futures Work Internship in Nairobi, Kenya (Remote)
Overview
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) offers a Foresight and Futures Work Internship within the Strategic Planning Branch of its Programme Division. The internship gives exposure to how foresight informs Country Programme Documents, strategic planning, policy development and adaptive programming.
The intern supports Futures Trend Analysis exercises for selected Country Offices, the design and facilitation of foresight exercises for UNFPA-led UN Country Teams, foresight training for staff at headquarters, regional and country levels, and activities such as webinars, workshops and communities of practice. The intern may also work with internally developed AI-assisted tools for horizon scanning, signal classification and clustering, trend analysis and foresight research, always under human review, which can include prompt design, testing, documentation and verification. The work involves research, trend analysis, scenario thinking, knowledge management and stakeholder engagement with UNFPA headquarters, regional and country offices and other partners.
