What you will do

Duties include donor research, opportunity development, pipeline management and preparing proposals, pitches, briefs, concept notes, memos, talking points and tailored funding packages. The specialist keeps donor pipelines, engagement trackers and funding forecasts, supports engagement with Member States and Permanent Missions, and builds donor profiles covering funding priorities and contribution history.

The role also covers donor intelligence and analysis of financing landscapes, donor trends and risks, input to multi-year resource mobilization plans, support for the Annual Report and thematic investment briefs, and work with Resident Coordinators and UN Country Teams on joint financing, including donor roundtables and missions.

Requirements

Applicants need an advanced degree in economics, business management, social sciences, political sciences or a related field. A first-level degree is considered with two additional years of experience. A master's holder needs seven years of progressively responsible experience in resource mobilization in international development, or nine years with a bachelor's degree. Experience with UN Secretariats, thematic, pooled or vertical funds is valued. Fluent English is required and another UN language is desirable.
