Overview

UNDP is recruiting a Research Analyst for the Thailand Policy Lab (job identification 36148). The post is full-time for one year under a National Personnel Service Agreement at grade NPSA-9. The Lab is a policy innovation platform set up through collaboration between UNDP and the government to connect stakeholders and build their capacity to speed up innovation in public policy and public services, with a goal of people-centred and inclusive policy innovation.

The programme works on transforming policy processes through systems thinking, human-centred design, inclusive participation, foresight and scenario planning, develops recommendations on issues such as food value chains, justice transformation, technology-facilitated gender-based violence, green skills and jobs, and just energy transition, and builds a learning community of innovators.

What you will do

The analyst conducts research supporting systems transformation and policy innovation, leads research on complex policy issues, applies advanced data analysis and policy innovation tools, and produces evidence-based recommendations. The analyst also acts as task manager for assigned policy pillars, coordinates teams, designs and runs policy experiments with evaluation frameworks, writes research papers, policy briefs and technical reports, organizes consultations, workshops and policy dialogues, develops knowledge products and builds relationships with institutions and stakeholders.

Requirements

Applicants need a Master's degree or equivalent in public policy, public administration, data science, law, research, economics or a related field with two years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with four years. Experience should include public policy, public sector development, qualitative and quantitative research, policy briefs, government engagement and coordinating private, public and civil sector stakeholders. English and Thai are required. Experience with UNDP or the UN system, policy innovation tools and cross-sector collaboration is desirable. UNDP is an equal opportunity employer.
