UNDP ICT Assistant Internship 2026: 6-Month Opportunity in Accra, Ghana
Overview
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Ghana Country Office is offering a six-month, full-time ICT Assistant internship in Accra. It sits within the Regional Bureau for Africa and the Innovation practice area. The intern works under the direct supervision of the ICT Associate, with overall guidance from the Operations Manager, in a unit that provides technology, connectivity, digital collaboration and end-user support to staff and programme teams.
What you get
The intern gives first-level technical help with laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, Microsoft 365, Teams, Zoom, Outlook and other collaboration tools, and logs, tracks and escalates support requests. They also support ICT asset and inventory management by validating asset records, tagging equipment, updating custodian assignments, preparing acknowledgement forms and reconciling physical equipment with system records. Other tasks can include user account support, onboarding and offboarding checklists, shared-drive access requests, ICT reporting, network and connectivity checks, meeting-room readiness, cybersecurity awareness, user guides, training materials, business continuity and digital transformation work.
UNDP does not pay a salary to interns but provides a stipend under its internship policy. Interns cover their own travel, accommodation, visas and subsistence, must show proof of health insurance and need a Medical Certificate of Good Health before starting. Interns are not UNDP staff and cannot represent the organisation.
Who can apply
Applicants may be in the final year of a bachelor's degree, enrolled in a master's degree, or have graduated from a bachelor's or master's programme no more than one year before the internship. Relevant fields include computer science, information technology, information systems, computer engineering, cybersecurity and data analytics. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required, and basic knowledge of hardware, operating systems, networking, Wi-Fi, ICT asset management and spreadsheets is desirable. Fluent English is required; other UN languages are an advantage. Communication, teamwork, organisation, analytical ability and openness to learning are valued.
