UNDP Evaluation and Research Analyst 2026: Home-Based International Opportunity
Overview
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is recruiting an Evaluation and Research Analyst to work from home within its Independent Evaluation Office (IEO). The office provides independent, credible evidence to support accountability and organizational learning, running country programme, corporate and thematic evaluations and setting methods and standards for assessing UNDP results.
The analyst joins the Country Programme Evaluation section and mainly supports independent country programme evaluations, while also contributing to other work in the office. The post is Job Identification 35988, graded IPSA-9, on a one-year full-time International Personnel Service Agreement. No mobility is required.
What you will do
Duties include helping design and carry out evaluations, building research and analytical frameworks, collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and contributing to findings, conclusions and recommendations. The analyst also designs and analyzes surveys, manages complex datasets, builds dashboards and infographics, carries out programme and financial analysis, and supports evaluation teams and external consultants. Coordinating consultations and validation sessions, preparing background notes and talking points, and supporting knowledge sharing are also part of the job.
Requirements
Applicants need a master's degree with two years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree with four years. Relevant fields include social sciences, economics, public administration, political science and international relations. Experience should cover international development, evaluation methods, mixed research approaches and data analysis.
Knowledge of Power BI, Python, R, Power Query and AIDA is an asset, as are machine learning, natural language processing, GIS and AI-enabled monitoring and evaluation. Fluent English is required, along with working knowledge of French and Spanish. Another UN official language is an advantage. Candidates living in the United States must be U.S. citizens or green card holders.
