Overview

Truist is offering its 2027 Credit Internship Program for university students interested in financial services. The programme is part of Truist's broad-based early-career internship offering and links interns with business lines in Wholesale Banking, including Commercial and Corporate Banking, Specialized Industries and Wholesale Payments. The position was posted on August 18, 2026, is a temporary role, and is available in five locations across the Truist footprint. The host team determines the location, which is stated in the offer letter, and interns relocate accordingly.

What you get

The programme combines education, exposure and experience. Interns take part in training on credit and risk, business rotations, special projects and day-to-day business activities, working with internal partners and external clients. They also have exposure to senior and executive leaders. Training through the summer may be a mix of remote and in-person sessions. For Washington, D.C. locations the posting states pay of $25.00 per hour, and that rate should not be assumed for other locations. Benefit eligibility depends on employment status, and temporary workers may not qualify for the same benefits as regular employees.

Who can apply

Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree, with business-related study preferred and accounting and finance coursework favoured. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred. Expected graduation must fall between December 2027 and June 2029.

Requirements

Truist looks for strong communication, initiative, demonstrated leadership, analytical ability, enthusiasm for financial services and general knowledge of the industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required, along with English. Candidates must be willing to travel for on-the-job training and relocate based on their assigned host team.

Truist will not sponsor employment authorisation for this role or provide immigration support for statuses such as H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, TN-1, TN-2 or E-3, nor sponsorship for permanent residence. Applicants must therefore already be authorised to work in the United States.

How to apply

Applications are made through the Truist careers platform by selecting Apply Now and completing the application, after which candidates can create a profile to track their status. Candidates with disabilities may request a reasonable accommodation. No closing date is stated.
