Senior Research Officer

Overview

The University of Essex is seeking a Senior Research Officer within the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering. This position is part of the PaiNeuro interdisciplinary project, which focuses on objective pain measurement utilizing neurophysiological signals through collaboration with Vestre Viken Hospital Trust in Norway.

Requirements

Applicants are required to hold, or be close to completing, a PhD in computer science, electronic engineering, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, machine learning, or a related discipline. Essential qualifications include strong Python programming skills, experience applying machine learning and deep learning to EEG or other high-dimensional biosignals, and an understanding of robust model evaluation. Candidates must also possess the ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team alongside strong academic writing and communication skills.

What you get

The salary for this full-time, fixed-term position is 38,784 British Pounds per annum. The work arrangement for the role is hybrid.
