Overview

RMI is seeking a Senior Associate for the Industrial Clusters role within its Industry Program to support efforts to accelerate industrial decarbonisation and advance clean energy solutions across Europe. The position is a full-time and remote-ready opportunity based in Germany, requiring travel across Europe. The work sits within the Climate-Aligned Industries Program and focuses on transforming heavy industry, developing low-carbon industrial value chains, and contributing to initiatives such as European industrial clusters, the India-Europe Green Ammonia Corridor, and chemicals industry engagement.

Who can apply

Applicants must be based in Germany and hold at least a bachelor degree in engineering, economics, public policy, environmental sciences, business, sustainability, or a related discipline. Candidates are required to have a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience in industrial transition, energy transition, climate policy, clean fuels, heavy industry, or management consulting.

Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to conduct research, interpret technical information, and translate findings into practical recommendations. Essential qualifications include strong written and verbal communication skills, stakeholder engagement capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects. Preferred backgrounds include experience working with European institutions, national governments, or industry stakeholders on industrial, climate, trade, or energy policy. Additional advantages include knowledge of hydrogen, ammonia, chemicals, or industrial clusters, experience facilitating multi-stakeholder processes, an understanding of industrial value chains and international trade corridors, and additional European language skills.
