Overview

The Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN) is hiring a Rising Wildlife Leaders Manager to lead programmes that support the next generation of conservation professionals. The position is full time and remote, based in the United States, with a salary of 80,000 to 95,000 dollars per year depending on location, experience and qualifications. The listed location is San Francisco, California. The Rising Wildlife Leaders programme offers scholarships, internships and leadership development to help conservationists build skills, networks and experience.

What you get

Benefits include contributions to medical, dental and vision insurance, basic life insurance and AD&D coverage, Health FSA and dependent care benefits, and a retirement plan with a 100% employer match on employee contributions up to 6% of salary. Employees also get paid holidays, vacation and sick leave.

Requirements

Applicants need at least five years of program management experience, including capacity-building or professional development programmes. They must be authorised to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship and be fluent in English. WCN wants someone who can independently manage multiple programmes, stakeholders and deadlines, with strong organisational, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills, and a good understanding of the conservation sector and how conservation NGOs work, including field-based realities. Working proficiency with Google Suite is required, and the manager must be willing to travel domestically and, where relevant, internationally for trainings and convenings. Experience with Salesforce or another CRM, programme budgets, vendor management or large event coordination is preferred.

The manager oversees the Scholarship Program, Internship Program and Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders (EWCL) initiatives. Duties include running application and selection processes, supporting participants, coordinating mentorship and alumni engagement, administering awards, agreements, payments and compliance records, tracking deadlines and reporting, using monitoring and evaluation data to recommend improvements, coordinating meetings, leading virtual and in-person trainings, and working with communications and donor teams, including managing the EWCL website and social media.

How to apply

Apply through the Wildlife Conservation Network's recruitment page after reviewing the full requirements, particularly the U.S. work authorisation condition. No deadline is stated.
