What you get
The Research Fellow helps develop and deliver research projects supporting the strategic objectives of the Africa Programme and Chatham House, from the early stages through to publication and dissemination. They produce policy-relevant research on politics, governance, the economy and trade in West Africa, with substantial work on Nigeria, and may build expertise beyond an initial specialism. They also help design and support research events and conferences intended to bring a wide range of voices, expertise and perspectives into discussions on West Africa, including shaping event content and identifying participants.
Requirements
Chatham House seeks a significant track record of policy research on West Africa, including experience developing successful research proposals. The role calls for exceptional analytical skills to handle complex political, economic, governance and security issues, and exceptional writing and communication skills to produce policy-relevant publications with demonstrable impact. The Fellow must be able to work across several research projects, events, stakeholder engagement and other programme activities at the same time.
