Research Fellow (SURGE)
Overview
UWE Bristol is looking for an experienced researcher to join the Same Day Urgent Care (SURGE) Workforce Research Partnership. The partnership is led by senior researchers at UWE Bristol and brings together co-applicants from 13 organisations, including universities and NHS institutions. It builds on earlier collaborations on workforce issues such as the integration of emerging roles in primary care, general practitioners in emergency departments, the composition and performance of general practice, and first response services in rural communities. Methods include realist evaluations, systematic reviews, scheduling and data forecasting, surveys and mixed methods research. The NIHR Health and Social Care Delivery Research Programme has funded the partnership for five years, and the postholder will be invited to join the NIHR Academy.
The Research Fellow will support the delivery of the partnership's work programmes through mixed methods, including mapping current service provision, literature reviews, stakeholder engagement and a range of primary data collection projects. They will liaise with partner institutions to coordinate work plans and contribute to protocol development, ethical approvals, data collection and analysis, and report writing and dissemination.
Requirements
The university is looking for a self-motivated person with experience of a variety of health services research methods, especially NHS project experience. They should be able to work on their own initiative while seeking guidance from the Chief Investigators, Partnership Manager and Study Management Group, and should be well organised with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team. Basic DBS clearance is required.
