Research Fellow
Overview
Leeds Beckett University is offering a 12-month, part-time Research Fellow position within the Carnegie School of Education. The role involves working alongside a multidisciplinary team on an externally funded systematic review focusing on interventions for fathers and male carers who face multiple and complex needs. Funded by Foundations, the 12-month project aims to determine what works, for whom, and under what conditions to shape evidence-based support systems for families.
The selected candidate will collaborate across the Carnegie School of Education, the School of Health, and the School of Social Sciences and Humanities. Responsibilities include contributing to the systematic review to help develop a subsequent practice review and generate recommendations for professionals. The position offers access to various organizational benefits, such as pension schemes, holiday entitlements, flexible working options, reduced study fees, and subsidised fitness facilities.
Requirements
Applicants should possess experience in conducting or contributing to systematic reviews or alternative evidence synthesis projects. Candidates need a strong eye for detail, organizational skills, and the capacity to work accurately and methodically with research evidence. The role requires someone capable of working both independently and collaboratively while managing competing priorities within a time-limited research project. An interest in parenting support, family interventions, and the experiences of fathers and male carers experiencing complex needs is considered advantageous.
