This position is part of the EPSRC-funded project titled Unifying Arithmetic Statistics, which covers research topics such as arithmetic statistics, rational points on varieties and stacks, local-global principles, and the arithmetic of global fields. The successful candidate will join a wider team led by project leads across multiple institutions and will participate in and help organize team activities like study groups, conferences, retreats, and hosting visiting researchers.

Who can apply

Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant subject area or have their PhD near completion. Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence in research and publications appropriate for their career stage, excellent written and verbal communication skills, specialist knowledge in one of the project's research areas, and an interest in arithmetic statistics, rational points, or local-global principles. Desirable qualifications include a strong background in arithmetic statistics, geometry or arithmetic of stacks, or analytic number theory, alongside experience working both independently and collaboratively, and experience in organizing seminars or study groups.

What you get

The position offers a salary of 45,829 to 53,462 British Pounds per annum, which includes a London Weighting Allowance. This is a full-time, fixed-term contract lasting 36 months, requiring 35 hours per week on site at King's College London. Requirements

Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae that includes a list of publications, a research statement, and the names of two academic referees. These referees should be best suited to comment on the candidate's research and typically include the PhD supervisor rather than necessarily the current or most recent employer.
