Remote Social Media Creator & Storyteller Job at Ecoversity: Earn Up to $3,200 Per Month
Overview
Ecoversity is hiring a Social Media Creator and Manager for a fully remote independent contractor position. Ecoversity is an educational organisation that helps people reconnect with themselves, each other and the natural world, with teaching in herbalism, permaculture, food growing, ecological design and regenerative living. The role is open to applicants based anywhere.
The creator works with the Director of Brand and Creative Operations and the co-founders, turning the organisation's library of interviews with teachers, farmers, herbalists and Indigenous knowledge holders into short-form content. The role is expected to be self-directed, taking ideas from concept to publication.
Requirements
The monthly output is about 20 to 24 pieces, roughly five a week, for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. This includes 8 to 10 podcast or interview reels, 4 to 6 original or trending reels, and 6 to 8 carousels or graphics. The work also includes captions, sourcing B-roll, scheduling, and replying to comments and messages within one business day. During launches the creator supports enrollment campaigns.
Applicants need social media instincts, familiarity with short-form video, Canva, analytics and digital marketing, and a real appreciation for nature and ecological living. No botany degree is needed. Cultural humility around Indigenous and traditional knowledge is important.
What you get
The pay is $2,600 to $3,200 per month depending on experience and portfolio, covering the regular content and related ideation, publishing and coordination. Large launch campaigns, live events or travel are discussed and paid separately. Work is deliverables-based, hours are self-set with the contractor's own tools, and there is one short weekly meeting. The role will be reviewed after 90 days.
How to apply
Applicants email three edited reels with notes on which they sourced or filmed, three graphics or carousels, a few sentences on their relationship with the natural world and one content idea. The portfolio matters more than a resume. Finalists complete a paid creative trial worth $250 over two days. The target hiring date is Friday, August 28, 2026.
