Project and Communications Officer Jobs: Remote EU/UK Role with Alliance for Socially Engaged Arts – €180 Per Day
Overview
The Alliance for Socially Engaged Arts is hiring a Project and Communications Officer. The role is fully remote and open to people based in the European Union or the United Kingdom, with a gross daily fee of EUR 180. The contract is part time, three days a week for six months, with possible extension, and the start is expected in October 2026. The officer reports to the Senior Programme Manager and works with philanthropic foundations, arts organisations, Fellows and suppliers. About two to four trips are expected during the contract.
The Alliance is a pooled fund of 13 European philanthropic foundations, hosted by the New Economics Foundation, which provides financial, legal and administrative support. It runs an 18-month Fellowship programme for leaders of socially engaged arts organisations, plus advocacy, communications and research.
What you will do
Grantmaking tasks include administering grants, keeping records, tracking reporting requirements and supporting open calls and selection. Financial coordination covers payment requests, expense reimbursements and liaison with the New Economics Foundation. The officer supports contracts with Fellows, suppliers and funders, helps with procurement and funder reports, and coordinates meetings and workshops, preparing agendas and minutes. Communications work includes managing the general inbox and supporting newsletters, website updates, social media and materials for events and annual reports.
Requirements
Applicants need at least two years of relevant experience in project coordination, programme support, administration, financial coordination or communications, along with strong organisation, attention to detail, excellent English and digital and Microsoft Office skills. Experience in socially engaged arts, philanthropy, grantmaking, the European cultural sector or multi-partner projects is an advantage, as is multimedia content skills.
Who can apply
Candidates in Belgium, France or Germany receive a local employment contract; others are generally freelancers and must include any VAT within the fee. The Alliance cannot sponsor visas.
