Overview

The Pinterest Apprenticeship Program gives professionals from non-technical backgrounds, and people who may have faced barriers to entering the technology industry, practical experience at Pinterest. It offers an alternative route into technology for career changers who already have transferable skills but need industry experience.

What you get

Apprentices are employed throughout the programme, which can last up to one year, though the exact length is not guaranteed. They may be considered for conversion to a full-time role at Pinterest afterwards, but this is not guaranteed and depends on available roles and performance. Apprentices build industry knowledge, technical and professional skills, practical work experience, professional networks and confidence working with cross-functional teams, within a community that stresses relationships and belonging.

There are four pathways. Apprentice Engineer covers software development, engineering projects and technical problem-solving. Apprentice Product Manager covers product strategy, user needs, development and cross-functional collaboration. Apprentice Product Designer covers digital product and user experience design. Apprentice Product Researcher covers user research, research methods, user behaviour and data and insights.

Who can apply

The programme targets professionals from non-tech backgrounds, people seeking to move into technology and those who have faced barriers to entering the industry. Researchers, communicators, business and project management professionals, designers and others with transferable skills may find a fit.

How to apply

No application deadline has been announced for the next cohort. Interested candidates can sign up for apprenticeship notifications to hear when applications open and monitor Pinterest's official channels. In the meantime they can choose a pathway, highlight transferable skills such as communication, research, problem-solving and project management, build relevant projects such as software projects, product case studies, design portfolios or research projects, and learn about Pinterest's products and users.
