Overview
One Acre Fund, an agricultural organisation founded in 2006 that supports smallholder farmers across Africa with inputs, tree seedlings, credit and training, is hiring a Graphic Designer on a fixed-term basis in Nairobi, Kenya. The designer joins a busy design team and independently manages design portfolios covering two to three countries, producing materials for farmers, social media, reports, newsletters and other organisational communications.
What the role involves
The designer takes projects from initial brief through concept, stakeholder review, production and final delivery, working with little managerial supervision. Duties include producing brand-aligned print and digital designs, acting as the main design contact for assigned stakeholders, coordinating briefs and timelines, prioritising competing deadlines, explaining design decisions, flagging risks and unclear requirements, and helping improve templates and workflows.
Who can apply
The position is open only to citizens or permanent residents of Kenya.
Requirements
Candidates need a Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, plus at least five years of professional graphic design experience. Advanced skill in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, is required, along with knowledge of print production, layout, typography, visual hierarchy and brand application, and foundational experience in packaging design. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace is expected, and Canva experience is an advantage. Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills are also needed.
What you get
The contract runs for two years, with a start as soon as possible. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, professional development and mentorship, and regular performance feedback and career discussions.
How to apply
Applications go through the One Acre Fund careers platform, with a CV and supporting information showing design experience, technical skills and stakeholder work. The organisation states it charges no fees for applications, interviews or tests, and that official recruitment communications come from its own email addresses.
Key dates
The deadline is 26 November 2026, but applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until a suitable candidate is hired.
