NRF Thuthuka Funding Call 2027 Now Open for Researchers in South Africa

The 2027 Thuthuka Funding Instrument is now open for applications through the National Research Foundation (NRF) in South Africa. The programme is designed to support the development of early-career researchers by strengthening research capacity and promoting academic excellence at universities and research institutions. Applications are open to eligible researchers currently employed at NRF-recognised public universities and research institutions, with the deadline set for 15 April 2026.
