NORCAP Emergency Response Pool 2026: Humanitarian Specialists Wanted Worldwide
Overview
NORCAP, part of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), is recruiting experienced humanitarian professionals for its Emergency Response Pool of Experts. It is looking for specialists in Logistics, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Humanitarian Coordination, and Information Management. NORCAP provides specialised expertise to strengthen humanitarian, development and peacebuilding responses, working with UN agencies, governments and other partners in countries affected by crises and climate-related challenges. In 2024 it reported working with 58 partners in 80 countries.
What you get
Pool members apply their expertise in emergency operations worldwide, where technical knowledge directly affects how effective a response is.
Who can apply
NORCAP wants experienced professionals rather than entry-level candidates, with substantial experience in their technical discipline, an understanding of emergency response, the ability to work in complex and fast-changing contexts, comfort collaborating with international and national partners, and readiness to deploy internationally at short notice.
The Logistics Specialist profile covers areas such as humanitarian supply chains, procurement and sourcing, transport, warehousing, fleet and asset management and logistics coordination. The WASH Specialist profile covers technical advice on water supply, sanitation, hygiene promotion, emergency WASH assessments, programme design and quality assurance. The Humanitarian Coordination Specialist supports coordination among UN agencies, governments and NGOs, including planning, coordination mechanisms, needs analysis and response strategies. The Information Management Specialist handles data collection and management, information systems, analysis, reporting, visualisation, mapping and information products for decision-makers.
Requirements
Education, experience and technical requirements differ between the four profiles, so applicants should read the individual vacancy announcement for the profile they want. Applications should be tailored to that profile, showing relevant qualifications, emergency or humanitarian experience, work in complex or multicultural settings, specific technical achievements and accurate availability for emergency assignments.
How to apply
NORCAP has published four separate recruitment announcements, one for each specialist profile, and candidates apply through the relevant one. No deadline is stated in the source.
