MYCP Policy Lab: Young Migrants Worldwide Invited to Shape Climate, Migration, AI and Future of Work Policy
Overview
The Migration Youth and Children Platform (MYCP) Policy Lab is an online programme for young people with lived experience of migration and displacement. Its theme is Climate, Migration, AI and the Future of Work. Participants from around the world learn directly from policymakers, international experts and practitioners and develop practical policy recommendations. The programme responds to the fact that young migrants are directly affected by changing labour markets and climate-related displacement, yet their views are often missing from the policies that affect them.
What participants do
The Lab combines learning, discussion, teamwork and policy development rather than only lectures. Participants engage with experts and other young people, then work in teams to write a policy brief on climate-labour policy and migrant youth inclusion. Teams explore challenges, discuss solutions and shape recommendations. The programme ends with final team presentations to a jury. The winning policy brief is published on the MYCP website and used in MYCP's advocacy for COP31.
What you get
Participants gain expert insights into climate, labour and migration from specialists in international organisations, the UN system, the World Bank, academia, medicine and advocacy, including people connected to UN Women, the World Bank and the International Labour Organization. The approach covers health, gender, education, labour and youth inclusion, not only migration as a standalone issue. Participants get practical experience of drafting a policy brief, a certificate of participation that can go on a CV, a network of young people worldwide interested in migration policy and youth advocacy, and a chance to contribute to COP31 advocacy through the winning brief.
Who can apply
The programme is for young people with lived experience of migration and displacement. It is delivered entirely online, so eligible young people from anywhere in the world can take part. The source text does not give age limits, selection steps, a deadline or the programme schedule, so applicants should check the official MYCP information for those details.
