Overview
Foresight Data Consultancy is recruiting a Junior Data Analyst for a permanent, full-time, office-based role at Ocean Village in Southampton, Hampshire. The company is an analytical agency serving the magazine and newspaper publishing industry, with more than a decade of experience working with organisations in the UK and United States. Its expertise covers subscription reporting and forecasting, customer acquisition, renewals, churn reporting, KPI dashboards, budget modelling, lifetime value modelling and campaign performance. It is expanding into areas such as digital products, charities and logistics.
The analyst starts by running regular reports based on marketing data, then builds skills in Microsoft Excel, Python and SAS through training and practical work, which can lead to wider responsibilities. Tasks include updating weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for a catalogue of clients, sending completed reports to clients and stakeholders, working with senior team members to build and improve reports, supporting the wider team on ad hoc analytical projects, meeting deadlines and communicating directly with clients when needed.
Requirements
The company wants a highly numerate, detail-oriented person with an interest in a data-driven, analytical environment. Basic Excel or similar spreadsheet skills, logical thinking and problem-solving ability, a proactive approach and the ability to work independently and within a small team are expected. Advanced programming experience does not appear to be needed at the start. An interest in building a career in data analytics is important.

The salary is 26,000 to 28,000 pounds per year, depending on experience, with a performance and profit-related bonus. Other benefits include free car parking, 22 days of annual holiday plus 3 additional days over Christmas and New Year, and a birthday day off.
