Junior Android Engineer - Payments

Overview

N26, the digital bank, is hiring a junior Android engineer for its Payments team within the Everyday Banking domain. The team manages and processes all payment and card transactions on modern, high-volume systems, with the aim of making banking easy, reliable, seamless and secure for every customer. The role is hybrid and can be based in Berlin or Barcelona. Cross-functional teams work with a high degree of autonomy and share knowledge widely, and engineers are encouraged to adopt the latest technology and tackle complex problems.

What you will do

The engineer works in a cross-functional team and learns how the whole product fits together, takes ownership and has an impact on it, questions decisions and shares views openly, takes part in knowledge sharing within and beyond the team, and works with Agile development methods.

Requirements

Applicants need thorough experience with the Android platform and Material Design principles, experience with Kotlin and with reactive programming using Kotlin Flows and Coroutines, and the ability to build software with testability in mind, using test or behaviour driven development and dependency injection. Experience with Jetpack Compose is a plus. N26 looks for motivated, fast learners with a bias for action, full professional proficiency in English, a commitment to well-tested and well-documented code, and a habit of giving and receiving direct, timely feedback.
