JPMorganChase Code for Good 2027 & Software Engineer Summer Internship: Paid U.S. Tech Opportunity for Students Graduating in 2027–2028
Overview
JPMorganChase's Tech for Social Good team runs Code for Good, a two-day social impact hackathon in which students build technology solutions for nonprofit organizations alongside the company's technologists. Taking part can lead to consideration for the 2027 Software Engineer Program Summer Internship, a paid, full-time summer role in the United States. Interns help build and improve digital applications and begin with an induction into the firm's technology, then work with peers and experienced engineers, with networking events, senior speaker sessions and peer mentorship. Top performers may be invited to a full-time role after graduation.
Who can apply
Applicants should be pursuing a bachelor's degree or a fifth-year master's with expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2028, in fields such as computer science, information science, information technology, data science, artificial intelligence or big data. They must be authorized to work in the U.S., as the program offers no employment-based immigration sponsorship, including for OPT or CPT.
What you get
The internship pays roughly $45.67 to $60.10 per hour depending on location. Locations are Chicago, Columbus, Houston, Jersey City, New York, Palo Alto, Plano, Tampa and Wilmington. Travel expenses to the hackathon are covered under certain conditions.
Requirements
Candidates should be able to write secure, high-quality code in at least one language, communicate well in writing and speech, work with engineers and stakeholders, and use approved AI development tools with careful review of the results. Curiosity about emerging technologies and problem-solving skills are preferred. The offer is subject to a review of criminal conviction history under the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. Participants bring their own laptops.
