Overview

UN Women is seeking a Knowledge and Evidence Systems Consultant for East and Southern Africa. The assignment is a four-month individual consultancy based in Nairobi, Kenya, and forms part of the organization's move toward a Regional Gender Evidence and Learning Unit that brings together research, statistics, data analytics, knowledge management, learning and evidence use.

The consultant reports to the Regional Statistics Specialist Gender and acts as regional lead on knowledge management, information management, evidence systems, digital repositories, dashboards and business intelligence. Duties include developing standards, classification and metadata systems for evidence and knowledge assets, running learning and after-action reviews, and building and managing a repository of datasets, research, evaluations, policy briefs and good practices. The consultant also designs interactive dashboards, scorecards and automated reporting, trains country office staff and partners, writes guidance materials and explores uses of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics.

Expected deliverables are an operational regional evidence management framework, a working evidence repository and knowledge platform, dashboards and business intelligence systems, better access to evidence, stronger organizational learning practices, communities of practice, and an end-of-assignment report with lessons and recommendations.
