IOM Strategic Communications and Graphic Design Consultant (CAPACITY Programme) 2026: Remote UN Consultancy Opportunity
Overview
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is recruiting a Strategic Communications and Graphic Design Consultant for the CAPACITY Programme, a migration governance initiative implemented by IOM Denmark. The programme is Pillar I of the Danish Migration Management Programme (2024-2029), funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, and strengthens migration governance systems, institutional capacity, regional cooperation, safe, orderly and regular migration pathways and rights-based return, readmission and sustainable reintegration. It runs through IOM country offices in Algeria, Lebanon, Morocco, Nigeria, Somalia and Syria, with regional activities in the Middle East, North Africa, and East and Horn of Africa. The consultancy is remote and home-based with no travel, lasting four months within a contract period of up to 11 months.
What the consultant produces
The consultant creates high-level programme presentations and packages for donors, government partners and senior stakeholders, with speaking materials, country presentation packages for Syria and Lebanon and an adaptable framework for the wider portfolio. Reporting products include the CAPACITY Quarterly Flash Update for July to September, a Two-Year Programme Summary Report covering December 2024 to November 2026, and communication advice for anniversary materials. Internal products include a CAPACITY presentation, a briefing package for IOM Denmark communication teams and key messaging recommendations. The consultant also refines and finalises the external programme dashboard in Power BI.
Requirements
Applicants need at least five years of relevant experience in strategic communications, knowledge management, donor reporting, editorial work or public affairs, with proven experience producing materials for international organisations, development agencies or governments, and the ability to turn complex technical content into clear material. Skills include graphic design, visual storytelling, report and publication design, infographics, digital content and stakeholder communication. Experience with migration, humanitarian or governance topics, previous work with IOM or UN agencies and familiarity with donor reporting are advantages. Fluent English is required, and French and Arabic are advantageous.
