Overview
IDinsight is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate, AI Transformation, to drive the organization's internal AI transformation and help external partners adopt practical AI solutions. IDinsight is a global nonprofit that helps leaders combat poverty by generating and applying evidence. It works with governments, foundations, NGOs and social enterprises across Africa and Asia in sectors such as health, education, agriculture, governance, finance, livelihoods and energy, with about 200 staff in nearly two dozen countries. The role sits in the Impact & Transformation Team and combines consulting, change management, product development and AI implementation. Depending on priorities, it may focus on internal work, external advisory engagements or both.
The associate manages workstreams within AI advisory engagements, writes presentations, reports and recommendations, and supports client relationships. Discovery work includes interviews and user research, workflow and user journey mapping, finding high-impact AI use cases and assessing feasibility, risks and returns. The role also covers building AI agents such as CustomGPTs and Claude Projects, creating low-code automations with tools such as Zapier, Make and n8n, organizing institutional knowledge, running AI training workshops, writing user guides, supporting AI champions, measuring the effectiveness of deployments, testing tools for quality and risk, and supporting ethical AI and data governance frameworks.
Requirements
Candidates need between 2 and 6 years of experience in consulting, digital transformation, product operations or a related field, strong familiarity with generative AI and large language models, daily use of AI tools, and hands-on experience building AI agents and workflow automations. Experience with organizational change, user research, and data analysis using Excel, Google Sheets, SQL, Python or R is expected. Experience in low-income country settings, international development or nonprofits, and agile methods are preferred. A deep data science or software engineering background is not required.
