Health Progress Hub Research & Scaling Officer Jobs 2026: Fully Remote Worldwide | Earn Up to US$25 Per Hour
Overview
Health Progress Hub is recruiting one or two Research & Scaling Officers to support global health organisations with applied research, country prioritisation, and programme expansion in low- and middle-income countries. This fully remote role represents the organisation's first hire beyond its founding team. Successful candidates will help charities determine where to expand operations, coordinate research projects, and improve decision-making evidence for health interventions across four main areas: lead exposure, transformative artificial intelligence and global health, market shaping for essential medicines, and health systems strengthening. The appointment may consist of one person covering the full role or two candidates with complementary skills.
Who can apply
The positions are open to applicants working from different time zones globally. Candidates may have varying levels of experience, ranging from early-career professionals to those with relevant applied experience. The organisation encourages applications from individuals who do not meet every desirable criterion but believe they can contribute.
What you get
Selected candidates receive flexible working hours ranging from 8 to 40 hours per week under an initial six-month contract with a strong possibility of extension. Compensation is structured as US$16 to US$25 per hour for candidates with relevant experience, US$10 to US$16 per hour for early-career candidates, and higher rates may be considered for exceptional applicants. Additional benefits include a paid recruitment assessment task, exposure to global health leaders, professional development opportunities, and potential progression into senior positions.
Requirements
Applicants should have experience in applied research, analysis, global health, international development, or health policy. Required capabilities include strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, the ability to translate complex research questions into practical recommendations, experience managing multiple projects with limited supervision, and excellent communication skills. Preferred backgrounds include experience managing research projects, conducting country prioritisation assessments, developing weighted-factor models, or understanding health systems in low- and middle-income countries, alongside familiarity with artificial intelligence research tools, small nonprofits, Ambitious Impact, GiveWell-supported charities, J-PAL, or Innovations for Poverty Action.
How to apply
Candidates must submit an online application form. The multi-stage selection process includes an initial application taking approximately 30 to 60 minutes, a paid assessment task lasting around 2.5 hours for shortlisted candidates, interviews, a live work assessment, a final interview, and reference checks.
Key dates
Applications close on 15 October 2026. Because recruitment is conducted on a rolling basis with applications reviewed within 48 hours and offers potentially made within one week, candidates are encouraged to apply early.
