Overview

Green Growth Africa is recruiting for three positions in Ghana: Circularity and Just Transition Officer, Integrated Development Officer, and Research and Policy Officer. The organisation is a nonprofit working to advance socioeconomic, environmental and technological development in underserved rural and urban communities across Africa, with particular attention to women and young people. Its thematic areas include environment and climate change, circular economy, agriculture and biodiversity, ecotourism and community development, and socioeconomic empowerment.

The roles are not advertised as remote, so applicants should be ready to work in person in Ghana. Preference goes to applicants currently based in Cape Coast or willing to relocate.

What you get

The Integrated Development Officer and Research and Policy Officer posts are full-time, one-year positions starting on 1 October 2026, and they may be renewed depending on satisfactory performance. The salary, start date, contract length and detailed academic requirements for the Circularity and Just Transition Officer were not available. The terms of reference link for that role returned an error, so applicants should obtain the full terms from Green Growth Africa before accepting any offer and should not assume the other two roles' conditions apply.

Requirements

The Circularity and Just Transition Officer will support the design, coordination and implementation of the organisation's circular economy and just-transition portfolio. The role pays particular attention to waste workers, informal-sector livelihoods, inclusive waste-management systems, resource recovery and fairness during environmental transitions. It sits within a programme that promotes waste reduction, recycling, sustainable production, community education, zero-waste communities, green employment and social protection for waste pickers.

The organisation is looking for professionals who can design practical programmes, work with communities, generate reliable evidence, analyse policy, mobilise donor resources, engage government institutions and support local livelihoods and enterprises.

Key dates

The deadline for all three positions is 28 August 2026.
