Overview

Beyond Sports, a company founded in Alkmaar in 2014 that turns live player-tracking data into real-time 3D visualisations, is recruiting graduate software engineers and product designers for its Beyond Sports Academy 2027 in Budapest, Hungary. The programme starts in September 2027 and is based in the Budapest office. The company has been part of Sony Sports Technology since 2022, and its award-winning technology has powered broadcasts for clients including the NFL, NHL, NBA and Premier League. The engine runs on every screen, from television to mixed-reality headsets.

From the first week graduates work alongside experienced engineers and designers on products used across the sports industry, owning real work in their discipline. Applicants state which area they want to join so they can be matched with the right team.

Areas of work

The academy covers mobile development for Android and iOS matchday features, backend services and data pipelines for live sports information, frontend interfaces for the browser, machine learning on sporting data to produce predictions, quality assurance from test plans to automation, product design based on research into how fans and clients use the products, and art, Unity and Unreal Engine development for virtual environments in live sports broadcasting.

Who can apply

The company hires for ability as well as credentials and wants to see what candidates have built. Strong applicants typically have an excellent degree, bootcamp or standout project experience in their chosen discipline, deep curiosity, evidence of shipping apps, projects, portfolios or open-source contributions, strong communication skills and comfort with ambiguity. An interest in sport and in how technology changes the fan experience is a bonus. The team is office-first and works across time zones with colleagues in the Netherlands and Hungary.

What you get

The company promises real mentorship from the engineers and designers behind its broadcasts, in a culture built on curiosity, ownership and helping each other improve.

Key dates

Applications close on Monday, 7 December 2026, and the programme begins in September 2027.
