Overview

Google DeepMind is recruiting a Head of AI Ecosystem for Kaggle, based in Mountain View, California. Kaggle operates within Google DeepMind as an independent brand and is best known for machine learning competitions. It is now expanding its role in public AI evaluation, aiming to help researchers and developers understand what works and what does not in artificial intelligence. The head leads Kaggle's public presence strategy across brand, content, community and go-to-market work, helping move it from static competitions toward a trusted industry standard for public AI evaluation.

Responsibilities include building a content engine across blogs, social media, video, newsletters and events, establishing Kaggle as an authoritative voice on AI evaluation, developing go-to-market playbooks for benchmark launches, competitions, model releases and product launches, earning trust in the AI research community, building relationships with researchers, developers, open-source communities and frontier AI laboratories, managing email programmes, social channels, vendors and agencies, overseeing campaign execution and analytics, and working with Kaggle leadership and Google DeepMind stakeholders.

Who can apply

Minimum qualifications are a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, at least 13 years of experience in developer marketing, developer relations or a similar field, at least five years managing and leading teams, cross-functional experience including managing vendors or agencies, and experience leading go-to-market strategy for developer- or researcher-facing tools, APIs or platform ecosystems. Preferred qualifications include expertise in the modern AI ecosystem, understanding of large language models, agentic frameworks and model evaluation methods, strong storytelling and technical communication, comfort in a fast-paced agile environment and strong networks in AI laboratories, research organisations or open-source AI communities.

What you get

Google lists the U.S. compensation range as $219,000 to $305,000 per year, plus a 25% bonus target, equity and benefits. Individual pay depends on job-related skills, experience, education and training.
