Overview

Glisten is seeking a Quantitative Research Assistant for its 2027 National School Climate Survey, a national study of the experiences of LGBTQIA2S+ students aged 13 and older in middle and high schools across the United States. Its findings are meant to give evidence to educators, researchers, advocates and policymakers. The role is a remote contract worth $8,000, expected to run from September 2026 through May 2027. Applicants must be authorised to work in the United States.

Requirements

The contractor develops and carries out quantitative analysis plans, choosing suitable statistical methods, and cleans and processes data, including assessing quality, handling missing information and merging large datasets. They keep documentation such as data dictionaries and codebooks, run analyses in R to find trends and relationships, and may do longitudinal analysis and further quantitative work informed by qualitative findings. Glisten wants strong statistical skills, especially in R, with expertise in areas such as multivariate regression, power analysis, factor analysis, structural equation modelling, longitudinal analysis and survey analysis, plus proficiency in Excel and experience with large datasets. Familiarity with K–12 education or school climate research is an advantage, as is knowledge of Qualtrics fraud detection software.

What you get

The contract is paid in two $4,000 instalments, the first after the first phase's deliverables and the second after the rest of the work, with invoices paid within 30 days. Deliverables include R scripts, analysis documentation, an updated codebook, tables and charts, and a written methodology and findings report.

Key dates

Onboarding is expected by September 17, 2026. Phase one, NSCS27 data cleaning and analysis, runs to December 1, 2026, and phase two, historical datasets and longitudinal analysis, runs to May 14, 2027, when all deliverables are due. Meetings are held between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern Time.

How to apply

Applicants submit a resume and a cover letter of no more than 400 words. Applications are reviewed as received until the position is filled.
