Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer, New Grad - UK Government
Overview
Palantir, which builds software for data-driven decisions and operations, is recruiting a Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer at new graduate level to work on UK Government programmes. The post is full time, based in London, and sits in the Delta department. The engineer helps build, operate and maintain reliable, scalable services for Palantir platforms, products and deployments, using creative solutions and automation, including modern AI and language model technology, wherever it helps.
What you will do
The work involves supporting and operating Palantir software, including monitoring and alerting, configuration management and upgrades, and deploying new products at customer sites and migrating them to the latest infrastructure types. The engineer debugs, improves and optimises services with long-term reliability in mind, reduces manual operations by automating workflows and runbooks, and provides troubleshooting for production issues, including taking part in a support on-call schedule. Engineers also develop new solutions in the Foundry and Apollo platforms. Teams are responsible for running their own services in production and work closely with forward deployed and product teams.
Requirements
Applicants need a strong engineering background, preferably in computer science, mathematics, software engineering, physics or data science, and proven coding ability in languages such as Java, Go, Python or JavaScript. Active DV UK security clearance, or eligibility for it, is required, along with sole British nationality, the ability to be at the facility or within 15 minutes of it during open hours, and the ability to work in a facility as a lone worker. Valued skills include independent troubleshooting with observability tools and logs, comfort with large-scale production systems, strong communication and the ability to work autonomously.
What you get
Palantir encourages office-based work, and many teams offer hybrid options of a day or two at home each week.
