ForAfrika is recruiting an HR Coordinator for Operations and Employee Relations. The position is remote and permanent, classed as mid-senior level, and was posted on September 7, 2026. The coordinator supports national and international employees at the Global Support Office and supported Country Offices. Duties include coordinating monthly payroll for the Global Support Office, JAGO, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia and the Central African Republic, liaising with an external payroll consultant, and coordinating benefits such as pension or provident funds, life cover, disability benefits and medical aid. The role also coordinates contracts with the Legal Practitioner, supports staff exits including resignations, retrenchments and redundancies, helps with performance management and probation tracking, maintains employee files, prepares monthly reports and supports audits.
Employee relations is a major part. The coordinator is a first contact for grievances and disciplinary matters, may conduct or support investigations into misconduct, harassment and bullying, and may support Safeguarding and Sexual Exploitation and Abuse investigations with strict confidentiality and survivor-centred handling.
Who can apply
Applicants need a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in human resources management, industrial relations, business administration or a related field, and at least five years of HR generalist experience covering employee relations, payroll, contracting, performance management and HR operations.
Requirements
Required knowledge includes employment and labour law, procedural fairness and disciplinary and grievance processes, plus practical payroll and benefits experience and proficiency in Sage 300 People/Payroll or a comparable system. Extra training in employee relations or investigations, safeguarding experience and multi-country work are advantages. Strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, plus organisation, communication and confidentiality, are expected.
