FNB Graduate Programme 2026: Future League Graduate Opportunities in South Africa
Overview
First National Bank (FNB) runs the Future League Graduate Programme in South Africa for people starting their professional careers. It immerses graduates in the FNB environment from the first day, combining structured training with practical projects, teamwork and exposure to different parts of the organisation. The aim is to help participants apply what they studied while building skills for the long term.
Graduates from other countries take part in the same training, team-building activities and projects as everyone else.
Who can apply
FNB says it wants curious and courageous people who are committed to mastering their work, who are emotionally intelligent and who work well in a team. Academic results alone are not the focus. Candidates are expected to show willingness to learn, determination and adaptability, and the ability to collaborate.
What you get
The programme offers essential professional training, team-building and hands-on project work. Working on projects gives graduates a view of how different teams and business functions operate and helps them move from academic life into a workplace.
FNB also runs related initiatives for people who are not yet graduates. Future League Week gives prospective graduates a preview of a career at FNB and a taste of the programme. Vacation work lets students gain real work experience across different business units and explore possible career paths. A Bursary Programme focuses on developing future leaders for South Africa. FNB also publishes Graduate Diaries describing what graduates experience and learn during the programme.
How to apply
Applications are made online through the FNB and FirstRand careers platform. Applicants should prepare an updated CV that accurately presents their academic background, skills, achievements, interests and any relevant experience, and should show the qualities FNB looks for, including curiosity, courage, teamwork and emotional intelligence.
