Overview

FirstRepair is seeking an experienced, highly reliable Executive Assistant to support its Founder and Executive Director. The part-time role is remote and can be done from anywhere in the United States. FirstRepair is a nonprofit working in civic engagement, human rights and civil liberties, policy, and race and ethnicity.

The assistant acts as an operational anchor for a visionary, relationship-driven leader with an entrepreneurial style and a busy public schedule. The work involves managing a high-volume calendar, resolving scheduling conflicts, anticipating logistics, keeping priorities on track and turning spoken ideas into organised follow-through. It also involves coordinating administrative activities and establishing operational flow within a small team.

Who can apply

This is not an entry-level post. FirstRepair wants a seasoned professional who has supported senior leaders such as founders, executive directors or chief executives, can manage up and operate independently, and can set up systems and drive execution without constant supervision. Important qualities include time management, communication, prioritisation, scheduling, discretion, attention to detail and proactive problem-solving, and the ability to stay effective when priorities change.

What you get

The salary is $36,000 to $40,000 per year for the part-time position. Benefits include generous paid time off, paid holidays and a retirement plan.

How to apply

Candidates send a letter of interest and resume by email with the subject line Executive Assistant Application. A strong application shows experience supporting senior leadership, managing competing priorities, coordinating schedules and handling sensitive or time-critical work. Applications are reviewed as they arrive, so early submission is encouraged.

Key dates

The position is scheduled to start on October 1, 2026, and applications are accepted until September 30, 2026.
