Emory University Climate Solutions Fellow 2026: One-Year Sustainability Fellowship in Atlanta
Overview
Emory University is recruiting a Fellow, Climate Solutions, in the Campus Services area of its Office of Sustainability Initiatives. The post is based at the Clifton Corridor campus in Atlanta, Georgia, and follows a hybrid remote arrangement. The initial term is one year, with the possibility of renewal for up to three years.
The Fellow reports to the Director of the Office of Sustainability Initiatives and develops programmes that involve graduate and undergraduate students from Emory's nine Academic Units. The work blends sustainability with event planning, communications, social media, graphic design, campaign coordination and relationship building.
Main duties include building ties with student organizations and university offices, speaking in classes, and helping run campus activities such as the Farmers Market, Wonderful Wednesdays tabling, the Student Sustainability Showcase and Forum, the Sustainable Food Fair and Earth Month events. The Fellow also helps administer the sustainability internship programme by recruiting, onboarding and supporting interns. Student engagement is tied to the 2023 Climate Action Plan and the commitment to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 from a 2010 baseline. Communications tasks include compiling the weekly newsletter, writing articles, creating social media content and designing graphics and report layouts.

Strong communication, outreach, presentation, data management and analysis skills are expected, along with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently. One year of professional experience is preferred but not strictly required.
Preferred qualities include experience with campus sustainability or climate action initiatives, social media proficiency, graphic design experience, interest in learning new software, experience working with students, and strong programme coordination skills.
