Data Collector Job 2026: Dexis Opportunity in Maryland, USA

Overview

Dexis, a professional services organization that works with government and community leaders in the United States and internationally, is hiring an entry-level Data Collector. The position is based primarily onsite at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland and supports a large-scale Army test and evaluation programme. That programme tests a broad range of equipment, including automotive, combat, electronic, general equipment and ordnance materiel.

The Data Collector helps gather and process the information needed for testing. Training is provided through classroom instruction and on-the-job learning, so extensive prior experience in data collection is not needed. Tasks include learning equipment characteristics and data collection procedures, assisting with visual inspections, observing equipment for apparent malfunctions, monitoring simple test instruments and controls, recording and compiling test data, downloading data from onboard instrumentation, performing specified arithmetic calculations, extracting information from records, specifications and drawings, compiling narrative information, and capturing image data. Some work may take place at locations outside Aberdeen.

Requirements

Applicants need a high school diploma and at least one year of experience using computers and Microsoft software, or two completed accredited computer classes. Minimum grades are a GPA of 2.5 in individual mathematics and science disciplines, and either 3.0 in high school English or 2.5 in college English. Proficiency in spoken and written English, strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office are required.

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and meet the physical requirements of the job. They should be willing to work outside normal hours when mission needs demand and to travel within the United States and internationally. Conditions can include extreme temperatures, high humidity, blowing sand and dust, confined spaces, elevated locations and unimproved terrain, and protective equipment may be required.
