Overview

VisionFund International, the microfinance provider of World Vision, is recruiting a Regional People and Culture Director for West Africa (Africa 3). VisionFund provides loans, savings and insurance to vulnerable communities so that families can build livelihoods, earn income and create more secure futures for their children. The full-time role leads the People and Culture function across Senegal, Mali and Ghana, reporting to the Global Director of People and Culture and working closely with the Regional Director and senior leaders.

The director advises leadership teams and boards on people decisions, oversees People and Culture managers in the region's microfinance institutions, and keeps policies in line with VisionFund's global strategy, values and local employment laws. Responsibilities span talent acquisition, workforce planning, leadership development, employee relations, total rewards, performance management, retention and succession planning. The role also involves building local team capacity, sharing practices between institutions, managing employment-related risk, supporting safeguarding and engaging external HR and financial inclusion networks.

Who can apply

Applicants should have eight to ten years of experience in HR leadership or senior HR management with significant organizational development experience, and a university degree, preferably with an HR focus. Qualifications such as CIPD or SHRM are an advantage, as is experience in microfinance or financial services, work in at least two countries of the region, work with boards and experience on a multinational senior leadership team. Applicants must be fluent in English and French, either as native French speakers with excellent English or native English speakers with excellent French, and applications must be written in English. Requirements

Travel of up to 30% is required. Because World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization, the successful candidate is expected, where legally permissible, to affirm its core documents and show conduct consistent with its Christian principles.
