Alight FutureKind Strategic Catalyst Job 2026: Program Development Opportunity in Nairobi, Kenya
Overview
Alight is hiring a FutureKind Strategic Catalyst for a full-time Program Development position in Nairobi, Kenya. FutureKind is Alight's innovation platform, which brings together displaced communities, governments, philanthropists, entrepreneurs and researchers to discover, test and scale new ideas that help displaced people build futures they value from the start of displacement. Alight has partnered with people displaced by conflict and crisis for nearly five decades and calls the people it serves customers rather than beneficiaries.
The Catalyst finds opportunities, shapes strategic ideas, develops narratives and mobilises partnerships that strengthen the FutureKind portfolio. The role reports to the Director of FutureKind Strategy and works with Alight's Office of the Customer, fundraising teams, governments, philanthropic organisations, designers, academics and community leaders. Frequent travel to Uganda and Rwanda is required.
What you will do
The work is split three ways. About 30 percent is opportunity discovery and idea generation, through co-creation workshops and community conversations with displaced and host communities, governments and partners. Another 30 percent is narrative development and thought leadership, turning research and community insight into proposals, presentations, fundraising materials and communications. The remaining 40 percent is partnership building and movement mobilisation across philanthropy, government, business, academia, technology and media, including convenings and external representation.
Requirements
Alight seeks at least 7 years of experience in partnership development, innovation, fundraising or strategic programme development in humanitarian, social impact, nonprofit or purpose-driven organisations. Candidates should have a record of building partnerships and securing funding, experience with donors and senior leaders, strong facilitation and engagement skills, excellent proposal writing and storytelling, and the ability to turn complex ideas into practical initiatives with communities at the centre. They should be comfortable with fast-changing settings and regular travel to refugee settlements.
Applicants must already have the legal right to work in Kenya because visa or work permit sponsorship is not available.
What you get
Benefits include joining a team of more than 2,500 people, online learning and development resources, flexible vacation, personal leave and holiday policies, and pay in line with Kenyan market standards and experience.
How to apply
Apply through Alight's recruitment portal with evidence of relevant experience. The position stays open until filled, and early applications are encouraged.
